The Lakers Aquatic Club offers training and practice groups for swimmers of all ages and ability levels. It is the goal of the Lakers Aquatic Club to offer age specific training for all of our athletes geared towards challenging each individual and developing each individual to the best of their abilities.

This group is offered as training for the pre-competitive swimmer.  The main focus will be working on freestyle, backstrokestroke, streamlining, breathing and endurance techniques required to move to the Beginners competitive group.

Beginner and Intermediate 
(Coach Stacy Malinova and Coach Elaina Hogle)

These two groups are the beginning groups for competitive swimmers.  The main focus will be stroke technique (correct arm and kicking action), streamlining, competitive starts & turns, and teaching the FUNdamentals of swimming.

JR Blue
(Coach Stacy Malinova, Coach Elaina Hogle)

This group is for the more experienced swimmer who has knowledge of the four competitive strokes.  The main emphasis of this group is still stroke technique, kicking, streamlining and starts & turns.  The swimmers in this group will be introduced to training concepts that include interval swimming.  The primary focus being on freestyle and IM training to establish a solid endurance base.

JR White 
(Coach Paul Kraft)

This group is for the experienced swimmer that has made a commitment to their sport and has exceled in the JR Blue group.  The Junior White swimmer has a solid base of all the competitive strokes and is ready to focus on training their bodies.  The main emphasis will still remain on stroke technique, kicking, streamlines, starts and turns.  However in this group conditioning and training principles will be used to teach the swimmer how to push themselves beyond their comfort zone.  At this level the swimmers will learn a great deal about training the different energy systems of their bodies to prepare them for peak performance.  Swimmers in the Junior White group are also dedicated and attend practice on a daily basis.

Senior Group
(Coach Paul Kraft)

This group is for the older, experienced swimmer who has learned all the FUNdamentals of the sport.  The main emphasis will be stroke technique, conditioning and intense training of all energy systems of the body.  The swimmer in this group has made a clear committment to their sport and training.  Swimmers in this group are dedicated and attend practice on a daily basis.  Swimmers in this group are high level state swimmers who are pursuing Sectional, Jr National, Sr National and Olympic Trial time standards.
